Equity or BVG pension for retirement in 2025?

Since January 1, 2024, the taxation of private life annuities has changed, making them much more attractive than before.

Instead of being taxed at 30%, as was previously the case, they will now be taxed at 1%!

The BVG pension (your second pillar when you retire), on the other hand, is taxed at 100% on income.

This raises a question:
Wouldn’t it be better to take out your second pillar in the form of a credit (taxed on income at a reduced rate) and use it to create a private life annuity that also guarantees you a benefit for life?

The idea is appealing, and the advantages are not limited to taxation.
You can also offer your testamentary beneficiaries 100% of the remaining invested amount in the event of your death, or even allow your partner to benefit from the same annuity for life after your death, which is impossible with a standard BVG annuity.

But would the amounts be the same?
No. In some cases and for some companies, they are higher, and in others, lower.
